This guidebook has two sets of objectives: 1) To guide thesis advisers and directors in supervising thesis research efforts and help improve thesis-advising competencies of thesis mentors. 2) To assist student researchers to deal with the task of research preparation and writing. Part One introduces the theories underlying the procedures for developing and selecting research designs and statistical techniques. Part two provides general situational analysis of thesis advising and writing in the Philippines. It describes current practices and explores possible issues of thesis advising and writing.
