The book commemorates the 300th anniversary of the foundation of the Order of the Christian Brothers, also widely known as the De La Salle Brothers. The historic occasion provides the opportunity to reflect on the life and work of St. John Baptist de La Salle, the Founder of the Brothers' Order who in 1680 gave form and direction to the group of young teachers dedicated to work as a team. After three hundred years, De La Salle's work continues because the needs of the youth are ever present and thousands of Brothers have followed in his footsteps.
