The book is a compilation of Mr. Esmeraldo Z. Izon's editorial cartoons at the Philippine Free Press. Mr. Izon is the chief editorial cartoonist of the Philippine Free Press, one of the country's oldest and trusted political magazine. The book begins on the eve of the Republic's independence. America redeemed its promise, albeit with strings attached, and gave us back on July 4, 1946, our independence. It ends with Uncle Sam leaving Subic in December 1992 - with our flag flying solo at long last in our skies. The excerpts from the wonderful editorials of Mr. Dick and Teodoro M. Locsin complete the history. With introduction by Teodoro M. Locsin, Jr.
