Part 1 includes the architecture of Greece and its empire as well as that of Egypt and the Ancient Near East.Part 2 shows the the early European settlements before the beginnings of significant architectural development in Cnetral Italy ,the Roamn Ascendancy and the growth of the Roman empire throughout europe & The Mediterranean.Part 3 focuses on the architecture of Islam .Part 4 includes all the significant cultures which predated the earliest European settlements worldwide,including Africa and the Americas as well as feudal China and Japan.Part 5 covers Renaissance in Europe,includes also the post Renaissance period,industrial architecture ,the intorduction of new building techniques and the fin de siecle transitional style and links to the ModernMovement in architecture.Part 6 extends the Renaissance and post-Renaissance coverage during the period of European colonial dominance worldwide.Part 7 twentieth -century architecture is covered in anumber of separate chapters ,classified by country or region.
