A research in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnomusicology. Transcription of the Dumaracol was accomplished by the author on March 28-29, 2005 in Banuang Daan, Calamianes Islands, Coron, Palawan. The Dumaracol is both a remembrance and a recollection of the Tagbanuas in the island where their forebears lived. It is also regarded by them as a prayer being chanted in order to feed the spirits of their ancestors. Meanwhile, the Sablay is a native courtship song. In Sablay also known as Tablay, the message of courtship songs is inherently Filipino, rich, unadultered anf preserved in countryside tradition and character. The author was able to transcribe few versions of the Sablay in his stay in the island.
