Principal contribution is a metaphysical description of modality, involving possible worlds as described in a system now called Kripkey semantics.Showed that a language can consistently contains its own truth predicate( analytic philosophy). The trick involves letting truth be partially defined property over the set of grammatically well- formed sentences in the language.
