| Summary, etc. | The autobiography of President Quezon in this book is more comprehensive and extensive in scope and nature than when published in my first volume. Every word is a Quezonian utterance; the style is the typical, simple, straightforward, and lucid Quezon manner of expressing his thoughts and sentiments; in it is woven intimately, interestingly, and happily the life, the struggles, and the victories of the poor boy of Baler who, through his own initiative and efforts, rose to eminence. Manuel L. Quezon has since been endeared by his people. In the publication of this book, I am most grateful to Mrs. D.D. Sampedro who, knowing the historic significance and paramount importance of the contents to the country and the people, has willingly financed the venture. --Introduction of the book. |
