| Summary, etc. | Even as I write this, I find myself asking if this is all real. A year ago, I was a Representative for the 3rd District of Camarines Sur. Now, I occupy the second-highest position in the country, something that I have never planned nor foreseen, and something that I regard with much humility and wonder. My fight has always been for those in the fringes of society, the men, women and children who are excluded from the narrative. What a blessing it is that just as I fought for them as a lawyer and as a congressman, they fought for me, too. This book is about our journey from 1% to Vice President. Not for a single moment did it cross my mind that this position is about me. This book is about all the men, women, and children who carried me in the surveys, pushed me forward, gave me strength, and, in some cases, even pawned precious items to fund my campaign.
