Its thirty sections reflect the exisitng organization of the elcetronics industry,and each contains an overview of that sector and many short articles describing major topics within that sector.Contains more than four hundred illustrations and tables based on actual devices,circuits,and systems.The first two sections discuss basic components including resistors,capacitors,diodes and transistors.A separate section describes electromechanical components such as swiche,relays,and motors that are either part of electronic circuits or are dependent upon them for operation.A section is devoted to amplifiersand oscillators,and another covers important "building -block"circuits.The next five sections discuss consumer electronics products services ,industrial electronics military and aerospace systems,and important electronic instrumentation in medicine and science.The manufacture of semiconductor devices and their packaging are the subjects of individual sections,as are the manufacture and population of circuuit boards.A section covers wire,cable,and connectors,and another discusses the products and techniques for protecting sensitive semiconductor devices and circuits from damage or destruction by excessive voltages and currents. |
