Presented here is the rationale for just such an involvement of parents and teachers working together to uncover the rich potential that theses schools can have in the lives of children. Provided are a statement on the re-visioning of the Lasallian school today, an articulation of the key values and characteristics of Lasallian schools' an overview of the current process of refoundation of which the Lasallian school movement is the most recent manifestation. Provided also are an articulation of the need for and validity of this position from a family systems perspective, a perspective of current educational thinking, the perspective of the Roman Catholic Church on education, and its authentic grounding in the writings of John Baptist De La Salle. |
