520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Buiding a Bridge continues the explorations started in Weaving a Dream, published five years ago. Fr. Ari Dy, SJ, shares his more recent reflections on being a Chinese-Filipino Catholic, as well as several lunar Chinese new year homilies. The four essays that comprise his masteral thesis-covering the history of the Chinese Christology, grace in Chinese Buddhism, and the communion of saints as a theological basis for ancestor veneration-are also presented here. The book ends with an updated version of the pastoral suggestions for integrating Chinese customs with Catholic life and practice. In all these various forms of writing, the author systematically pursues his longstanding interest in identifying the meeting points between the Catholic faith and Chinese-Filipino culture, hence the title, Building a Bridge. As the Church marks forty years since the end of the Second Vatican Council, where inculturation began to receive a fresh mandate, this book shows the courage and insight needed for the Gospel to take root in cultures.
