Vol.1 Covers the subjects of energy technology and is intended for use in the various engineering disciplines associated with production,conversion and utilisation. These disciplines include conventional engineering fields of chemical, mechanical, metallurgical, electrical, environmental and nuclear engineering. It is divided into six sections: Section 1 - explains the basic concepts of energy. Stresses the importance of energy in everyday life. Section 2 - deals with the various conventional and non - conventional sources of energy. Section 3 - explains the various energy consuming and converting equipments such as boiler, turbines, DG sets, motoors, pumps and belt drives. Section 4 - deals with energy conservation in chemical process and allied industries . Section 5 - deals with energy conservation in sugar industry.
