520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The subject of Alternative Dispute Resolution or ADR is a fairly new addition to the curriculum of a few law schools in the Philippines. Awareness of the problems of clogged dockets and lengthy trials led to the inclusion of ADR as a law subject in order to apprise law students, the future lawyers of our country, of the benefits and advantages of the alternative modes of dispute resolution. The book "Alternative Dispute Resolution" is Atty. Gabriel T. Robeniol's contribution for the promotion and propagation of the alternative and less adversarial modes of dispute resolution. It was written to address the clamor of his students on the subject to transform his notes, lectures and researches into a book for the benefit not just of his students but also the students of other law schools and lawyers. The book contains in-depth analyses on both the substantive and procedural aspects of the different modes of alternative dispute resolution, as well as the various general and specific laws on the subject. The provisions of the Civil Code of the Philippines, Revised Penal Code, Local Government Code, Administrative Code, and the Rules of Court pertinent to compromises, arbitration, mediation and conciliation are discussed in conjunction with the specific laws and procedural rules on the subject, namely, R.A. No. 9285 (Alternative Dispute Resolution Act of 2004) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, R.A. No. 876 (Arbitration Law), and the Special Rules of Court on Alternative Dispute Resolution.
