The objective of this work are as follows: 1) to examine the theories, concepts, frameworks, and approaches in comparative politics; 2) to apply theories, concepts, frameworks, and approaches of comparative politics to present-day problems with regard to politics, particularly in developing societies; 3) to critique the competing perspectives of the theories of comparative politics with regard to their relevance/irrelevance in understanding present-day political, economic, and social-cultural challenges; and 4) to propose alternative perspectives to the theories of comparative politics. Thus, the nine articles included in this work seeks to answer issues of (re) democratization and development in Third World countries.
