Presents a study of early photography as a colonial tool for representation involving the province of Cavite, in Southern Luzon,Philippines , being the theater of the revolution against Spain and the Philippine - American War depending the First Filipinas Republic in the triennium of 1896-1899.Spain published engravings and photography in books and magazines showing the programs being undertaken against the rebels of the insurgents province in the Southern Luzon area. America also made use of photographs in various formats to capture Cavite as the center of Spain's military and naval might in the Pacific and in the process assure the functionaries and people back home in the far-away continent by the Atlantic on the emergence of their country as a world power. --RVP
