This Manual has been revised seven times by the undersigned. The basic structure is the same as the basic goal which is to conform with international standards as well as to teach law students, members of the bench and bar to cite materials in their papers, pleading, books and also the internet sources. The revisions of this Manual incorporates some of the changes in the Philippine government agencies and the 19th edition of Harvard Blue Book or the Uniform System of Citation as well as the United Nations Documentation Research Guide. We also compared our citations to the recommendations and adopted some suggestions of the 3rd edition of the ALWD Citation Manual; A Professional System of Citation, published by the Association of Legal Writing Directors and Darby Dickerson; and the Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA). --Preface of the book.
