Insurrectos tells the story of two men, Miguel de Cordoba, a mestizo insurgent officer and Shawn O'Malley, an American officer, as they met in the battlefield during the Spanish-Philippine-American war and find themselves at conflict following the war. It is a fictional story that is informed by the stories of General Jose Magdangal Alejandrino on the revolution as they are recounted by the author's father, lending insight into war and power in Philippine history. --Amazon.com
