Summary: Because of the wholesale destruction of books during the battle for the liberation of Manila, the few remaining copies of the original edition of this book were wiped out. In order to meet the demand of both lawyers and students for a new edition, the present one has been made. Every effort was exerted to make this book as up-to-date as possible, not only with respect to the decisions of courts, but also with respect to the law. It is hoped that this edition will be as helpful to all its users as was the original edition. --Preface of the book.
