Social Science for Filipinos is a study of the principles of the just and prosperous society. The book does not remain in the realm of the universal and abstract, but applies the principles to concrete Philippine reality. It probes how the Philippines culd be led, in accordance with these principles, to justice and prosperity. Fr. Pedro V. Salgado, O.P. is an authority on Social Science. He is presently the President of Aquinas University in Legaspi City, and teaches Marxism in the same University. He is also Vice Regional Chairman of BAYAN (Bicol), ang member of the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Peasant Institute. Fr. Salgado's books on social issues include: Cory Aquino, Militarization and Other Essays (1986), The Philippine Economy: History and Analysis (1985)
