One remarkable improvement in particular in this Revised Edition may be found in Chapter 2. Completely rewritten while the focus of attention is still centered on the corporate structure as a means of carrying the goals and objectives of the company, nevertheless, new materials deemed important and relevant to the subject under inquiry have been incorporated therein. One such material pertains not only to the administrative machinery but moreover on the ways and means through which the administrative load is spread with insights on span of control, decentralization, delegation and divisionalization. The importance of committees in the operation of the company had been duly acknowledged and recognized. The various publics as well as the general principles as they apply to the management of a corporation highlight the discussion of Chapter 2. A new chapter has been added: Chapter 17 on "Management Information System". Today, the high-tech wave has engulfed the business world with the birth and development of computers. So far reaching are its effects that in varying degrees, companies across Asia, for instance, are now communicated electronically either through dedicated corporate systems or via the Internet. Just as fax made the telex obsolete, so E-mail has made it possible for instance communication with any number of people. Communication is recognized today as vital to the company's success.
