The study has two parts: Part I discusses the conditions under which the management practices of the respondent enterprises constitute generally effective systems of management control. The discussion includes the functionalities and dysfunctionalities of the control systems and practices employed. A three-stage model of family control is posited to show the extent of family control of the business over time and as it expands. Part II consists of case studies of ten Chinese-Filipino enterprises representing businesses of different types and sizes.. --From the preface
