This is a book that had to be done - not just to celebrate a milestone in Philippine history, but more importantly, to set the record straight in the face of alarming moves not only to rewrite history, but worse, to distort it. This is a book that took almost years to make. It embarked on research in the summer of '86, sifting, as it puts in introduction, "the historical from the hysterical", and finally coming up with that initially called "Compendium of a Revolution".
