The papers contained in this volume were those submitted to the committee for publication. They covered a wide range of subjects, including the historical, economic, political, social and cultural aspects of Manila's development. The paper-writers and participants, who came from different universities and agencies, all contributed to a broader understanding of the great city that is central to the Filipino soul.
