The seaweed resource is one of the most important of the marine resources. Production of seaweed through culture is one of the most productive forms of livelihood benefiting thousands of coastal inhabitants in the country today. The industry is presently based on a few species. This book collates all available resources necessary for the faster development of seaweed resources under one cover. It provides basic information on the kinds/species of seaweed, their distribution, their availability, natural products, and their uses. The book was formatted to suit the needs of a diverse group of users, thus the technical aspects in the manuscript have been minimized.
