but when we scrutinize that movement closely, we discover it is not a 20 but a 2000 year-old phenomenon we are dealing with. For the BCC is Church in its innermost essence and its delineation was firmly defined not in this late century but way back in the first of the Church's existence, at its very founding.
The history of the BCCs is as recent as Vatican 11-yet as old as the Church itself. The reason is simple enough. Vatican 11 gave rise to what we now call the BCC movement
