The information is basic on most of the designers, but gives an overview of their lives, work and place in fashion history. It also has lots of photos for each designer, especially the "big names".Summary: Each chapter covers a decade, from 1900 to 1999. Within the chapter are sections on the trendsetting designers of the decade, "The Look of the Decade", and "Idols of the Decade". The book also has little photo sections on cultural-changing fashions through the century, such as "Pants" or "Wedding Dresses", and also design-process subsections such as the 30 page photo spread on "From First Design to Finished Article". The book covers the subject in two ways: one as a straight encylcopedia of designers, with a comprehesive index to look up names
