This textbook is an attempt to assist both faculty members and students in journeying together towads an ethical and Christian understanding of the socio-political, economic, cultural, ecological and spiritual dimensions of human life. It presents a capsule of the social vision-mission of the church both in the universal and local levels, analyses from the Gospel standpoint, of some relevant issues that assail the modern person, considers some points for reflection and provides some guidelines towards bridging the gap between words and work, doctrine and life, reflections and actions. It is eventually hoped that some kind of lay spirituality may emerge and take shape towards influencing actual and social conditions.
