This 3rd revised Classification Scheme 2002 like the previous editions, is a list of potential government authors and not a list of government documents. The Classification itself is a hospitable scheme in that it is possible to add new departments whenever necessary. However, it is hoped that the user-librarian concerned will conform to the scheme, even as their collection grow, so that uniformity will be achieved in all Philippine government document holdings. For this revision, the Committee agreed with some exceptions, to apply the same general principles used in building and developing the 1994 Classification Scheme of Philippine Government Documents. In the same way they have agreed to adopt relevant rules from the AACR II in establishing corporate entries to conform with the international bibliographic standards.
