Summary: The book is a comprehensive study of Philippine Games It is the first attempt to introduce systematic classification and context analysis to traditional games Filipinos play. Each game in this collection is described according to an analytic scheme which makes it possible to locate at a glance information about the following: players, setting, props, pre-game, movements, cultural notes, regional versions, and annotations. The materials for this study have been collected from original field works as well as bibliographical research. The bibliographical research portion of this study has covered a wide field. This has resulted in a comparative study of Philippine games with those from widely scattered places, including European countries, the Arctic regions, other countries of Asia, and the United States.
