Yakan is an ethno-linguistic group found in southern Philippines. They are the dominant inhabitants of the island province of Basilan. Yakans are also found in the Zamboanga peninsula. They speak a language called Bahasa Yakan, a variation of sinama or siama, a dialect of the Sama language of the Tawi-Tawi archipelago. --Cover of the book.
