Illustrates the definitions, with photographs, of the elements in their location on the structures. The photographs were selected from building sites around the world. Features 1) Listing of historic architects who practiced during the eighteenth and the nineteenth centuries, including listings of their major works. The names were chosen from the "Index of Fame" known as those who had earned a name in history based on their representation in architectural history books. 2) Listings of historic preservation architectural firms practicing at present, who renovated the buildings that were created by the historic architects listed. Their listing commences with the name of the original architect, and if known, the date of construction. There is nothing further in the listing, about the firm in general, only the information about the project, and the restoration techniques and elements they used and provided. Their case studies are all illustrated, and are identified as shown by the material.
