Summary: This edition refers to a significant portion of the art collection of the Central Bank of the Philippines. Of all institutional collections in the country, the CB's leads the field in that it aspires to be comprehensive, spanning as it does more than 200 years ago of Philippine painting from 18th century icons by anonymous craftsmen from the island-province of Bohol to the abstract art of the 20th century. Seventy-seven paintings by 52 artists, or about one-third of the total number comprising the CB's collection, have been chosen for reproduction in this volume to provide the reader an idea of its scope and quality.
