In English and Filipino
Pitong hailed from Tarlac. When the war started, Pitong was still enjoying the sight of planes zooming and crashing. Until, his family decided to leave their devastated place and moved to Malabon with his Tiya Guring. During this Japanese Occupation, Pitong had to endure different way of life. The worst experience he had was when his father was mistakenly pinpointed by Makapili, a mysterious man hiding himself in a native woven bag. But, after three years, peace and freedom were brought back not only to the family of Pitong but to the Filipinos as well. Essentially, the author hopes that this story will mold young Filipino readers to have a deep sense of patriotism and love for history.
