Summary: Earlier this year, when I was preparing two long essays on the semi-centennial celebration of the University of the Philippines for publication in the Golden Jubilee number of The Philippine Collegian and in the Sunday Magazine of a Manila daily, it occurred to me that it might be a good idea to participate in the University celebration myself in a more substantial way by putting out a book, let us say, of my own essays published during the last ten years, which also happens to be the duration of my service in the University.
