Escapes from Corregidor recounts the wartime experiences of Edgar D. Whitcomb, Indiana's 43rd Governor. After his dramatic escape from the hands of the enemy and his return to the peacetime world, Ed Whitcomb continued to serve his fellow citizens-as a State Senator, as Indiana Secretary of State, and as Indiana's Chief Executive. His Military service concluded only recently when he retired from the Air Force Reserves with the rank of Colonel. Whitcomb, his lovely wife Pat, and their five growing children call Seymour, Indiana "home." --Back cover of the book.
