Summary: IBON Facts & Figures is a product of IBON Databank Phils., Inc., an independent, non-stock, non-profit institution founded in 1978 with the aim of popularizing soci-economic data and analysis. EAch issue of this fortnightly publication in English is the result of weeks of data-gathering and selection, discussion, and writing by a staff of young and qualified economists. The aim is to present economic information, culled from various government and non-government periodicals and documents, in a more digestible form, situating them among other developments in society. The 24 issues produced within a year are bound in book form like the present volume. Each volume becomes a quick and handy reference material for all interested students of economy and society because each one is provided with an introduction, a table of contents, a guide to abbreviations of sources and a subject index. This year it is also provided with a list of tables. --Foreword of the Book.
