25 streams were added to the the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. Pictures strove to depict the silence and the sounds( bird song, wolfsong, river song) as well as the air, skies, endless light of summer, the soft dark of winter, the feeling of absolute and deep-rooted " selfhood" of pristine untouched country.
Features Scenic national parklands consist of Katmai, Glacier Bay, and Denali. Includes the two historical parks named Sitka and Klondike Gold Rush, which preserve mementoes of Russian and Native lifeways of the great old stampede of 1897-98. Discussed too is the landmark law of 1980 bwhich dedicated 57 million acres to the national forests and wildlife refugees
