This book contains the proceedings of the 4th Asia-Oceania Biblical Congress celebrated on February 14-18, 2005 at the Mariapolis Center in Tagaytay City, Philippines, with the theme "God's World: Living Hope and Lasting Peace." The congress was organized by the Catholic Biblical Federation (CBF) in coordination with the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences (FABC)-Office of Peace and Harmony, and hosted by the Episcopal Commission for the Biblical Apstolate (ECBA) of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). This book is a gift of Asia and Oceania to the Church, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the promulgation of Dei Verbum (Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation, Vatican 11). It hopes to inspire those working in the biblical pastoral ministry to engage in the dialogue of life with peoples of different faiths in Asia-Oceania and to discover that God's Word has the power to unite peoples in peace and harmony.
