Includes bibliography.
This edition looks at the problematic status of man's classification and definition in contemporary personalist theories which interpret Aquinas's rational animal formula as being excessively "cosmological". It also conducts a close analysis and reading of key metaphysical texts that directly discuss the rational animal definition. Moreover, it focuses on the internal and distinguishing features of Thomist rationality. It looks at how Aquinas draws the implications of rational nature within the broader setting of intellectuality. It also tackles the personhood of the human being, and attempts at an interpretation of Thomist personalism from the metaphysical standpoint of the good - of perfection.
