Summary: This book II discusses various non-food chemical industries based on Philippine manufacturing companies while using international procedures and equipment. This the first time such books were written by a Filipino based on researches and actual company visits under Philippine conditions. There are over 300 firms engaged in the manufacturing of industrial chemicals and chemical products in the Philippines, with more than one-third (1/3) included among the top 1,000 corporations. The chemical industry is the branch of the manufacturing sector that converts various materials into useful and profitable products via chemical reaction and processes. Each chapter includes the particular industry's raw materials, processes and operations, flowcharts, and waste/environmental issues. Other chapters include quality control, industry updates centered on economic conditions, and other related scientific issues under the section on Chem Bits. Questions after the chapter are meant to increase students' awareness of the country's geographical and natural resources, including regional and provincial resources which may help improve or solve the industry's weaknesses and problems. It may also open up entrepreneurial opportunities for our professionals instead of leaving the country.
