This English-Tagalog Dictionary is a "reprint of the original volume published in 1960 with slight modification" (Pineda, 1992). The presentation and format of the Tagalog verb has been revised to make it appealing to readers. The Commission on the Filipino Language maintained the abakada system of spelling, syllabication and pronunciation, and conventional way of accentuation in this edition. Importantly, the Commission documents basic Tagalog words and phrases with sample sentences on English word entries.
