2) How movements facilitate exchange of information, ideas, knowledge and practical experience among national and international bodies and civil society forces
and 3) the resourcefulness, capacity and potential for action of the selected movements in different national contexts, as well as their international linkages.
This volume has materialized from a funded research project of the United Nation Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), Global Civil Society Movements : Dynamics in International Campaigns and National Implementation (2003-2007). Primarily, the research focuses on movements related to debt relief, international trade rules, global taxation, anti-corruption and fair trade in Argentina, Bolivia, the Philippines, Senegal and Turkey. Specifically, it aims to shed light on several key issues: 1) How citizens and civil society groups voice their interests and concerns within via these movements
