The author has come up with this work cognizant of the need for a book that provides adequate treatment of such significant field as health and related concerns in the legal aspect. It is thus in the light of the foregoing that the applicable law, rules and jurisprudence mandated in the Philippines have been availed of as the basis for the subject matter of this book. Citations in the work emanate from cases decided by the Supreme Court, the highest tribunal in the judicial hierarchy of the country, with the appurtenant dates of promulgation. The provisions presently being in effect and the amendments by subsequent legislation are likewise included, with certain portions of the law embodied in the respective chapters to amplify the topics discussed. The author trusts that whatever little input he invested in this book will go along way toward achieving the goal of successfully disseminating the message intended.
