Tells of a Filipino man sojourn to China. He fell in love with a woman named Mei Mei and mutually they pledged to meet again. Stresses the evils in Early Chinese history of oppression and poverty due to feudalism. By twist of fate, the traveler became poor, returned to China to fulfill his promise to his beloved.
