This book accompanies the exhibition "Art and the Order of Nature in Indigenous Philippine Textiles" featuring the collection of Mercedes Zobel. Both the exhibition and this book invite the viewer to look at art with new set of lenses. Set against the timeless and universal principles of traditional art that are based on the order of nature, select pieces of textiles were studied and analyzed the artists, all of the Prince's School of Traditional Arts in London. They focused on the local application of those principles by indigenous communities from the Cordilleras in Northern Luzon and from Sulu in Mindanao.
