Summary: The book entitles Las Islas Filipinas -- Progresos en Setenta Años published in 1978 by the editor of the La Revista de Filipinas" is a reprint of Comn's "Estado de las Islas Filipinas" in 1810 with commentaries on the subsequent progress up to 1878. Considering that Comyn was one "who knew more about Philippine economy than all the employees of his epoch," he thereby laid the foundation for more factual and scientific study of the Philippine conditions. --From the introduction
