With hopes and expectations we feel pleasure in placing this book in the hands of our readers. Since the introduction of new curriculum and revision of the syllabus of the subject Railways, Bridges and Tunnels in North India, the need for a book which covers the entire new syllabus was badly felt both by the teachers and the students alike. This is our humble attempt towards this end. Having had long association with students of various shades. We had the opportunity to know the difficulties faced by them, i.e., preparing the subject.
