The actual field work was sponsored by the Philippine National Museum, Manila, under the Directorship of Dr. Eduardo Quisumbing. The writer was attached to this institution as an anthropologist from 1947 until 1951. Additional financial support for the field trip to Palawan was extended by Professor H.
