N2  - Before His Excellency the President of the Philippines Manuel Roxas called me back to the service of the Republic to assume the office of Director of the National Library, the same one that I occupied before the war broke out, my colleagues in the Library Assistant Director Luis Montilla Especially, prepared this volume to be distributed before the end of the year, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the martyrdom of our sage, hero and martyr, Dr. Jose Rizal. This publication is the continuation of other important historical documents, such as the Epistalius Rizalino, the most outstanding, in five volumes, published by Director Teodoro M. Kalaw, publications that had to be suspended during the war.
