Summary: The experience and research results of the U/IMC-PCP Project on Rural Theater for Family Planning Communication proved theater to be effective and showed its great potential as a component in a development communication strategy. This manual for development theater was premised on this finding. The Youth Civic Action Program (YCAP) Coordinating Council proposed mobile theater as one of the activities in consonance with its stated PRIMER. We believe that this manual will serve as a resource book on development theater and provide operational guidelines on the use of theater for family planning communication. The first chapter explains the proposed YCAP curriculum and the concept of development theater with basic communication and adoption theories and principles that support is usefulness as a development communication tool, especially in the Philippine setting. --From the preface
